Geography of Canada
In the first section of Social Studies we are learning about the geography of Canada. Students are learning to name and label all of the ten provinces and three territories along with their capital cities. Students will be completing a partner project on one of the provinces.
If your child is doing research at home I have attached links to acceptable provincial websites. They are under Social Studies -Geography of Canada

Canadian Regions
Grade 4 is currently learning about the different regions in Canada. We have studied the prairies, the Atlantic and the Arctic regions. They are showing their understanding through writing a piece similar to David Bouchard's "If You're Not From the Prairies."
Ex. If you're not from the Arctic
You don't know dark
You can't know dark
Our winter days are full of darkness,
24 hours of no sun at all
Our days and nights run together
If you're not from the Arctic
You don't know dark
You can't know dark
